Car becomes more and more popular from the original rare commodity, and also drive continuous development of automotive electronics correspondingly, with the continuous development of modern society. Currently, the traditional manual wiper mechanical systems was already replaced by a smart wiper system which is greatly improved security posture and comfort and liberate the driver’s hands. But few studies in this field in China, and also the equipped models of the products are almost occupied by foreign brands in the market. Therefore, this study aims to research on an intelligent rain-sensing wiper control system based on optical sensors.In this paper, the rain-sensing wiper system intelligent microcontroller driven primarily by former light-emitting diode emits a beam of light incident on the windshield, after multiple reflections through the receiving end of the receiving photodiode detection, utilize PIC16F690 8-bit microcontroller which is through receiving the light intensity of the analysis to determine whether there is rain detection windshield wiper motor which in turn drives the action driven wiper arm erased. This paper analyzes the basic principles of the rainfall detect applications among the capacitive sensors, optical sensors, thermocouple sensors, compares the advantages and disadvantages separately; introduces the principle of light refraction, total internal reflection and photoelectric conversion. For each separate part of the hardware circuit design, circuit design schematics are given and analyzed to verify the circuit, the final completion of a complete system hardware design.On the software side is mainly carried out by the PIC16F690 8-bit microcontroller assembler programming, according to the design goals, determine a good main framework and process for the main part and the subroutine to write, debug verification, and explain some of the key program code analysis, finalize the compilation work of the entire microcontroller program. The most focus comprises a frequency modulated light emitting diode emitting side, via software to adjust the emission intensity and the magnification to reach the receiving end working environment adaptive, continuous sampling of periodic signals by A/D analog-to-digital converter.In this paper, though the analysis on the principle of intelligent wiper control system, hardware design, software development and debugging, ultimately complete intelligent design of the rain-sensing wiper system, the system can work, automatic induction identify and control the wiper action to erase the rain on the windshield, and finally achieve the goal of design.
