Steel storey-adding structure has its unique advantages, which is the most common in story-adding of buildings. This article applied seismic isolation technology in the direct storey-adding of frame structure; through using finite element method, it contrastively analyzed time-history reaction results of the structure in different storey-adding methods under earthquake action, which includes natural period of vibration, inter-laminar shear, storey acceleration, storey displacement and storey drift angle, etc. The analysis results showed that the application of seismic isolation technology in direct storey-adding of frame-shear structure changed the vibration characteristics of original structure and reduced the transmission of earthquake energy to the storey-adding structure upward, which can lower structural earthquake response as well as improve the damping performance of the extensional organization.Meanwhile, this article analyzed the effect of seismic isolation support with different mechanical performance on structural damping effect, among which the effective stiffness and equivalent damping ratio are two important parameters to damping performance. Through the method of changing another parameter alone by fixing one parameter and the time-history analysis of structure under frequent earthquake, it can be kNown that the effective stiffness really is not the larger the better whereas equivalent damping ratio is an favorable parameter to structure, which indicates that the earthquake response decreases gradually with the increasing of equivalent damping ratio in seismic isolation support. Finding the influence rule of these two parameters on storey-adding isolated structure is very significant for the future application of seismic isolation technology in frame-shear structure. because it can provide reference for seismic isolation supports with more excellent design.
