Reserved deformation should be considered in design and construction of slate tunnels. Therefore, it is meaningful for tunneling engineering to calculate reserved deformation rationally. The paper describes the Cosserat theory and introduces its finite element method. Then, these results are applied in a pratical and concrete engineering project, of which reserved deformation is required. Because much uncertainty of choosing mechanical parameters exsits in tunnel engineering, it is unrational to use one definite data to assess a project. The paper also deals with these parameters of surrounding rocks using Monte Carlo method and provides statistical analysis of results of reserved deformation.Besides, the paper also provides codes of finite element method for common elastic medium and Cosserat medium using Matlab software. These codes consists of vital procedures of construction of a tunnel, such as excation, lining, bolting and bolting time. And these codes are used to calculate reserved deformation of tunnels. Comparations bettween two methods are considered in the paper.
