With the development of our domestic economy, the demand for urban traffic is increasing, the original urban road can not meet the convenience of the general public to driving, so negative effects is unavoidable, such as the phenomenon of urban road traffic congestion, environmental pollution. In order to solve those phenomenon, to widen the existing road reconstruction method is an feasible method.This paper introduces the research status about city road widening reconstruction at home and abroad, based on the practical engineering, introduces the construction concept of "sponge city" in the city road widening reconstruction engineering. The article analysis the common diseases and disease mechanism of the city road widening reconstruction engineering in detail, and describes the advantages of developing "sponge city". Then, the article analyzes the deformation mechanism of subgrade soil and stress-strain relationship, through the analysis of the deformation of subgrade soil, this paper analyzes the methods of treatment on widening roadbed deformation processing in the city road widening reconstruction engineering, the commonly method is laying geogrid.On the steps of the uneven settlement of new and old subgrade combining parts, this articles created six different models for quantitative analysis of different height and width by using ABAQUS software. And it is concluded that the influence of the height and width to the uneven settlement of new and old subgrade combining parts; In view of the geogrid laying method, this paper also established five different models for analysis, through the analysis it is concluded that the best way of laying geogrid.This article, which is based on the actual engineering, and the eastern tourist roadreconstruction project in Ji’nan as the background to research. Field experiment was carried out from it, and the analysis of test data prove the conclusion of the article so that it can be used for reference for similar projects in the future. In addition,This paper introduces the construction of pervious concrete pavement, and it may provide a contribution to promote the "sponge city" development.
