The research on the multi-objective reactive power optimization of power system with wind farm is carried out with the improved Group Search Optimizer Algorithm:1. The wind power reactive power optimization model is based on the active power loss and Voltage Stability Index, considering the economic and risk at the same time. The Group Search Optimizer Algorithm is used to solve the proposed model, and the objective function is normalized and the security margin factor is introduced to turn the multi objective function into a single objective function.2. The successive elimination strategy is applied into the maintenance and update strategy of the External Elite Set(EES) and the dynamic weighted comprehensive evaluation method is applied to the selection strategy of the new producer. A Pareto optimal solution set Optimized Multi-objective Group Search Optimizer Algorithm(POMGSO) is proposed.3. The reactive power optimization model proposed is solved by the POMGSO algorithm. A decision strategy which suits the fluctuation of wind power output is adopted. The comparison between three aspects is obtained: the comparison of node voltage before and after optimization,the comparison of the active power loss rate, the Pareto optimal solution set from MGSO and POMGSO.
