Various types of power supply need to be tested at the factory to verify their eligibility. Traditional test load is typically in the form of series and parallel R, L, C configuration, not only bulky, heavy and not convenient to use it, but also cause substantial loss of energy. The type traditional load is single, can not satisfy the test needs of some special power supply. This paper studied a single-phase electronic load combined with power electronics technology, automatic control theory and microcomputer control technology. It has small size, light weight, flexible load regulation, etc., it can control the output current amplitude and phase according to the actual needs of the measured power supply, which can simulate linear load, non-linear load, etc. It is also energy efficient for feedback power to utility grid.Firstly, this paper introduces the research status of domestic and foreign electronic load topologies, control methods. This paper gives the implementation of electronic load. The electronic load main circuit topology adopts the structure of two back to back PWM converters for load simulation and energy feedback. The operational principle of electronic load simulation side and inverter side is analyzed according to the principle of four-quadrant of PWM converter. This paper discusses the starting programme of electronic load and gives the main circuit parameters selected methods, focusing on the select basis of inductance parameters.Secondly, This paper studies the generation principle of given load current of specified type load and designs the closed-loop control of load simulation side and energy inverted side. Load simulation side uses hysteresis control, and inverter side uses the current inner, outer voltage dual-loop control strategy. On the issue of traditional energy inverted side control methods makes grid current carrying bus voltage harmonics, the paper improved energy inverted side dual-loop design. It gives the regulator discrete method and set up an experimental platform of the single-phase AC feedback electronic load with TMS320F2812 chip.Finally, gives the simulation and experimental results of the aforementioned design. A simulation result of a variety of different conditions proves the feasibility of this design and simulation results of energy inverted side verify the rationality of the improved closed-loop design. Experimental results fully demonstrated the correctness of system’s design of hardware and software, the feasibility of the control strategy. Research realized the effect of simulate traditional load, and completed the expected research goals.
