With the continuous progress of industrial intelligence, machine vision technology as a new subject has drawn increasing attention, and gradually has been widely used. Visual detection technology is a new technology which is developed on the basis of machine vision, instead of the traditional testing methods for product testing. With the visual detection technology continues to mature and improving, the product which is to be seized in the field of the industrial inspection for the detection of effect and reliability are also rising. This paper using the practical application of barcode detection field as a starting point, based on the analysis of system requirements, combines the advantages of FPGA and DSP, designed a smart camera detection devices. Compared with most of the PC based visual inspection system, it integrates image acquisition and processing function into the intelligent camera, which reduces image processing of the data of the host computer and improves the speed and efficiency of detection. At the same time, the research of this project has a certain versatility, which has a good guidance for other application of the size measurement, beer liquid level detection and so on.Firstly, this paper summarizes the concept of visual detection technology and smart camera, expounds the development of smart camera and the research status at home and abroad, and analyzes the background and significance of the barcode detection, on this basis the overall program of smart camera detection device is proposed.Secondly, the design of this paper is divided into two parts, hardware and software. Hardware design mainly includes three aspects: image acquisition, FPGA control circuit and DSP image processing circuit, gives the chip selection, design principles and circuit diagrams. Software design mainly includes hardware logic and related algorithms, the hardware logic gives the image capture chip driver module, quadruple phase module and UART communication module; the related algorithms include the filter wave, the binarization and the correction processing.Finally, the research is summarized in this paper, the deficiencies of design are put forward, and the future direction of improvements and methods is declared.
