Deep groove ball bearing is an important basic part of machinery, and it is widely used in various mechanical equipment. It delivers sport and supports parts by rolling contact between its internal components with richful technical contents. The level of its technology in a way represents the level of industrial technology development of a country.Although deep groove ball bearing is a very mature standard component, but the standard deep groove ball bearing’s raceway is a perfect circle, so it transmits movement and force by two points between rolling body and bearing ring, making it can not meet the requirements in some special conditions, so the design of non-standard deep groove ball bearing is necessary.Based on the situation that two contact points can be formed between and its inscribed circle, the design idea of oval raceway is proposed, it means that the inner and outer raceways of deep groove ball bearings are designed to ovals, forming two contact points between the rolling element and oval track surface separately. Firstly, the Geometric relations of groove ball bearing with oval raceway are analyzed, and proposed design methods and design boundaries of the bearing; Secondly, based on Hertz theory, derived contact stress and deformation formulas of the bearing with oval raceway; Finally, used the APDL language established parameterized model of rolling element under the maximum load, oval raceways and the whole model of bearing to study contact state of rolling element under the maximum load, the overall deformation of bearing and the stress distribution of the rolling element.The results fully illustrate the feasibility that optimize standard circular raceway of groove ball bearing to oval raceway, so the groove ball bearing with oval raceway can be used to replace the standard bearing in certain conditions, this design method also can provide a reference for the future design of non-standard bearings.
