In order to overcome the impact on power grid caused by the stochastic fluctuation of output power from wind farm connection with power grid and solve the low efficiency of battery charge and discharge based on the form of chemical energy storage system in the inhibition of short-term wind power fluctuations, a new energy storage device EDLC(electric double layer capacitor) that can complete charge and discharge through large power in a very short time is adopted to regulate the output power fluctuation of the wind farm and stabilize the output voltage of the bus.According to the structural characteristics of domestic wind farm main connections and the types of wind turbines, there are two ways to install the EESS (EDLC Energy Storage System) in wind farms. With the comparative analysis of actual single wind generator and eight ones output date, the place where the EESS can be installed in this thesis is determined.The circuit schematic diagram of EESS is designed, and its operation work is analyzed in detail. The EESS is composed of the four quadrant converter VSC(Voltage Source Converter), the two quadrant bi-directional DC-DC converter and EDLC. The mathematical models of devices are established respectively. The control method of EESS and corresponding controller are designed.The operation simulation of EESS proposed in this thesis is done by the electric power simulation software DigSILENT/PowerFactory. After simulation and analysis, conclusions are obtained. Wind farm output power of the maximum power rate of change is limited to the provisions within the recommended values of the State Grid Corporation of China by which the charging and discharging of EDLC energy storage system in a very short time restrain the wind farm output power fluctuation connected with grid. The voltage fluctuation of wind farm output bus is controlled through which the wind farm reactive power fluctuation is restrained effectively. The practical application value and favorable application prospects of the EDLC energy storage system are verified.Finally, the hardware control structure of EESS is analyzed and designed preliminary. The operational procedures of voltage space vector control in the two kinds of DSP chip are discussed.
