In recent years, overseas investment has gradually achieved remarkable results, especially the investment of overseas hydropower projects have achieved rapid development. Burma hydropower projects mainly adopt BOT way, but the BOT project investment is not mature, since the international environment has a certain complexity and risk, which leads to huge risk of project investment, such as political risk, financial risk, credit risk, market risk and so on. Therefore, this thesis chooses the risk management of hydropower projects in Burma as the research object, in order to improve the risk management ability of the enterprises in Burma.This paper is based on the author’s work, first of all, this paper collects a large number of project risk management literature and relevant documents on the project risk management. Through the detailed discussion of the relevant theory of offshore hydropower, BOT project and risk management, this paper has laid a solid theoretical foundation for this paper; Secondly, the characteristics of offshore hydropower BOT projects are analyzed, and the planning stage, bidding stage, design stage, construction stage, acceptance stage, operation stage, transfer stage respectively, risk identification, the BOT project to identify the existence of political risk, economic risk, policy risk, technical risk four risk types; Thirdly, the risk management case of R power station and Q power station in S company is analyzed. Fourth, the risk management of BOT project in S company is investigated; Finally, the paper establishes hydropower BOT project investment risk management system, in order to take the corresponding risk transfer, risk mitigation, risk acceptance and other measures, so as to promote the S company BOT project investment risk management level.
