Drive-in storage racks are widely used because of their high storage density. Without transversal beams, the stability of drive-in storage racks is worse than pallet racks, so the stability problem is particularly prominent. A large number of drive-in system failures have appeared in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to research the overall stability of drive-in racks, which is helpful for the design of the storage racks. The research can make drive-in storage racks safety and economic. This article mainly completed the following works:(1) Used the finite element analysis software ANSYS to establish the drive-in storage racks three-dimensional integrated model, then adopted the method of eigenvalue buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis with the initial geometric imperfections to analyze the overall stability capacity. The results show that nonlinear buckling analysis is more accurately to calculate the bearing capacity.(2) Based on the composition characteristics of drive-in storage racks, this article analyzed the stability mechanism of the drive-in storage racks, the results shows that spine bracings and plan bracings have very important effect on the stability of drive-in racks. The columns connect with spine bracings to form a geometric stable system, which can make sure the columns on the back have sufficient stability and provide the overall longitudinal stiffness for the system. Plan bracings can transmit the effect of fixed points in the back of racks, then the systems can restrict column lateral when it loses stability. So that they can improve the stability of drive-in racks.(3) There are many factors may affect the overall stability of drive-in systems, the article analyzed parameters influence law, and then came to the conclusions as follows. Spine bracings are the guarantee of the stability in the cross-aisle, it is necessary to set up enough spine bracings. Transverse horizontal bracings combine to longitude horizontal bracings adjoining to the back is an economic reasonable top support system. Story height, rack depth, section moment of inertia of columns, area of plan bracings, column foot rotation stiffness are main influence factors. The stability of drive-in racks is sensitive to the initial geometric imperfections. When the initial geometric defects increase, stable bearing capacity decreases obviously. In the process of accessing goods, should avoid unbalanced loading condition, which can make sure the stability of racks.(4) Based on the method of regression analysis, used the data obtained from the parameter analysis to fit a formula which can forecast the ultimate bearing capacity of drive-in storage racks. It provides a reference for practical engineering application.
