Energy is the foundation of human development. The rapid development of the global economy is dependent on the energy security. After many years of research, the technology of the horizontal axis tidal current energy unit is becoming mature, and it is moving in the direction of industrialization. In the process of design Tidal current energy unit, many technologies are reference to wind turbines. Compared to the equal power of the wind turbine and the ocean current power generation unit, the axial force of tidal current energy power generation device may be several times the wind turbine. This brings a great challenge to the reliability of the unit. In the process of design, existing units in order to guarantee the reliability of the unit, is conservative to avoid excessive axial force of destruction. So that the units are heavy, leading to the rising cost of materials, manufacturing and transportation. The axial force of the unit is an indispensable reference factor for the design unit installation equipment, and it is also an important factor affecting the reliability of the unit. As a new type of renewable energy equipment, many of the prototype is in the experimental stage, and the power level is small. Therefore, the problem of large axial force is not obvious, but with the increase of the power level of the unit, the axial force problem is bound to get attention and research.The main contents of this paper are as follows:In chapter 1, the research background and the development of Marine Current Turbine both at home and abroad are introduced. At the same time, it introduces the source and content of the project.In chapter 2, the reason of axial force and the basic theory of axial force analysis are introduced.In chapter 3, the flow field analysis of the horizontal axis tidal current energy generating set is presented by using the simulation technology of CFD. And using Bladed software to create the analysis of rotor model. The relationship between axial force and flow rate is obtained by simulation analysis.In chapter 4, it introduces the design of the test measurement scheme, including selection and development of measurement scheme, design of small unit, feasibility analysis, finite element analysis of suspension beam and analysis of strain gauge.In chapter 5, the situation of the tidal current energy unit is introduced, including the paste and calibration of the strain gauge, test system and measurement, and the simulation results are compared and analyzed.In chapter 6, the major work and the achievement of the study is summarized, and the conclusions Besides, the prospect is also expected at the end.
