Sichuan Province Yibin City Nanxi District Waterfront City’s Ribbon Park Landscapes Planning

In the upstream watershed of the Yangtze River, due to the special natural and humanistic characteristics, as well as the rising of construction boom of the riverside ribbon park landscapes in each big or small city along the river in recent years, creation of riverside ribbon parks has a significant impact on aspects like the ecological flood-prevention, the promotion of city image, the manifestation of city cards and public recreational and cultural activities etc. How to develop the riverside ribbon park landscapes with great local cultural characteristics, strong functions and distinct landscape features is still under exploration, which makes it urgent to study the ribbon park landscapes in the riverside cities in the upstream watershed of the Yangtze River. Based on the summing up of the related concepts of the landscape, the greenbelt, the city park, the city ribbon park, the "parkway", the "greenway" and the "green corridor" etc.,this paper explicitly defines the differences and relations between the riverside ribbon park and these specific terms; summarizes the related theories of waterfront city ribbon parks involving the landscape ecology, urban ecology, environment-behavior study, Chinese traditional landscape gardening and the field of landscape ecology, and the research status of domestic and overseas waterfront ribbon park and waterfront landscapes, analyzes in-depth the typical cases of domestic and overseas waterfront ribbon parks like the Charles river valley and ecology garden, Shanghai beach park etc., and finds that there is still lack of some special research on characteristics and functions of the waterside city ribbon park. The paper puts forwards specifically the research contents and research methods of ribbon parks located in the upper Yangtze riverside city.It makes researches on the ribbon parks in the upper Yangtze riverside cities, finds its values and features, makes clear its development laws, and gets a reasonable and practical guiding landscape policy to create a distinctive ribbon park landscape in the riverside city of the upstream region of big rivers.This paper takes the project of the waterside ribbon park of Nanxi District in Yibin City in the upstream region of Yangtze River as a practical case, and under the background of the orientation of an "International Ecological Landscape Garden City in the Upstream Yangtze River" studies the fourth waterfront flood-prevention levee landscape in Nanxi District. Findings are as follows:(1) By studying and analyzing the related theories and cases of waterfront ribbon parks, this paper establishes a theoretical system for the programming and design of the waterfront ribbon park landscapes.(2) The paper applies this theoretical system to the construction of the flood-prevention levee landscapes, systematically investigates and surveys the status, meteorological and hydrological conditions, topography conditions, engineering geological and physical index of the river system in the upper Yangtze river basin.(3)The paper makes it clear that the waterfront ribbon park is a ribbon waterfront green space consisting of waterfront landscapes, analyzes in detail and in hierarchy the integrated control, subsection characteristics building, design of major landscape nodes and flood-prevention levee projects of the fourth riverside flood-prevention levee landscape project in Nanxi District, summarizes the core and procedures of designing the ribbon waterfront park landscapes, and reveals that the design of ribbon park landscapes must fully display the history of the city.(4) According to the status of the project area and combined with related theories and successful cases at home and abroad, the paper refers "harmony" as the core concept of the landscape planning, using block subdivision to reconcile the contradiction of "planning and status", the culture implantation to reconcile the contradiction of "landscapes and traditional culture", the functional import to reconcile the contradiction of "city and ecology", and using the embedded dots and lines to reconcile the contradiction of "space and water bank", the stereoscopic water bank to reconcile the contradiction of "high and low", the extension of landscapes to reconcile the contradiction between " width and narrowness", and the intergrowth of the city and the water to reconcile the contradiction of "city and security". The paper tries to make clear the common problems of all the upper Yangtze River Parks, discusses its landscape construction system to allow the ribbon parks in the waterfront city to fully display its values, and considers the ecological and local cultures while preventing flood scientifically; it analyzes and studies the existing development and related characteristics of urban ribbon parks, and makes a comprehensive and thoroughly landscape design and project for "the Waterfront City’s Ribbon Park Landscapes in the Upper Yangtze River" innovatively according to the common problems of this type of parks, and by referring the "new city landscape", "great river scenery", "long and narrow landscape", "large elevation difference landscape", "flood-prevention landscape" and "water source landscape" as the landscape sequences.
