For the electronic equipment used in one time high speed aircraft in the field of aerospace and aviation, due to the restriction of high speed, high temperature, and closed environmental conditions in the aircraft platform, the conventional heat dissipation method is usually unable to be used in the field of aerospace and aviation. In recent years, with the development of high speed aircraft, the platform environment becomes more severe, and all kinds of microwave / millimeter wave electronic components are developing in high integration and miniaturization, the thermal power is increasing, and the application of new thermal control means gets more urgent. Thermal energy storage technology is one of the ways to solve the problem of transient thermal control of high speed aircraft, which is characterized by high heat absorbing capability and constant temperature.In this paper, the thermal control of electronic equipment for high speed aircraft was studied. Based on the statistical analysis of the typical product dimension, the design technology of the phase change thermal storage device was studied, including material selection, design, optimization, simulation and testing technology. The research took the engineering application as the main goal, all the research conclusion can be directly applied to the engineering design of the phase change heat storage device.By the research and improvement of phase change materials, three kinds of graphite / paraffin phase change materials were obtained, which were: 74#, 91#, and 94#. These three kinds of materials have high latent heat and phase change point accuracy.According to the research on mathematical model of phase change materials and its realization method in thermal simulation software, the model and parameters of the equivalent specific heat method, the simulation software setting principle and realizing method were established. And the advantages of a combination of human and machine, simple and feasible method were presented.The comparison tests of the test pieces of various phase change thermal storage devices were accomplished. The performances of various heat storage devices were obtained. The influence of the enhanced heat conduction rib plate and the depth of the cavity on the properties of the phase change heat storage device were analyzed.The structure design steps and methods of phase change thermal storage device were presented, and the basic calculation formula and design flow chart were obtained. According to the steps of this project, the requirement of phase change thermal storage device can be met.One filling process of a phase change material was tested, when the whole phase change material and the cavity were heated, the filling quality could be better and the performance of the repeated use of phase change thermal storage device could be improved.Through the research of this topic, the way of design and manufacturing of the phase change thermal storage device was get, which is suitable for the needs of the current project. Which iss expected to be used to solve the transient temperature control requirements of multiple products, improve the product’s environmental adaptability and reliability.
