This paper describes the application of dynamic reluctance network analysis method in permanent magnet brushless motor performance analysis. The magnetic circuit method is commonly used for preliminary calculation, finite element method is used for accurate calculation. Circuit method takes little time but inaccurate. FEM is precise, but requires a long time to calculate. Dynamic magnetic network method is a balance of time-saving and accuracy. The motor is divided into a dynamic reluctance mesh (DRM), relying on MATLAB electromagnetic performance calculations. DRM method meets the requirements better than the equivalent magnetic circuit method and consume mush less computation resource than FEA.First, this paper introduces the principle of dynamic magnetic network. Then a dynamic reluctance mesh of Brushless DC motor for aerospace application is built. The methods to calculate the dynamic air gap reluctance under uniform airgap conditions are investigated. Simulations under no-load conditions and rated load conditions are carried out. Under no load condition, the performance of the BLDC motor is explored. The inductance was calculated under load condition. The simulation results using FEA and DRM method are compared to verify the magnetic network model.
