The construction of high-rise buildings in urban area calls for deep foundation of good stability and high bearing capacity. The pile foundation meets the requirements, so it is widely applied in the construction of high-rise buildings. Many high-rise buildings are built near interchanges, tunnels, and underground utilities; as a result, the construction and latter-period settlement of pile foundation for high-rise buildings has an influence on the surrounding buildings and how they affect each other will be the hotspot and difficulty being focused in the field of geotechnical engineering.The influence on surrounding buildings caused by the pile foundation of high-rise buildings is mainly reflected in the aspect of construction process and latter-period settlement. The results of the influence when taking construction differ from each other because pore water pressure exists and the physical parameters of subsoil are different. Depending on project example, analyses on the influence based on cavity expansion theory of squeezing effect are taken in this article. It is found that when the stresses on pile bolck are in accordance, rubble layer gets the maximum influence range and the residual soil gets the minimum influence area. The result is in accordance with the that of actual measurement. The difficulty to analyze the influence due to the latter-period settlement is how to obtain the displacement field according to settlement theory. As for shear-deformation method, it takes the interaction among piles and the continuity of surrounding soil mass into consideration and it can be generalized from single-pile calculation to pile-group calculation. Therefore, shear-deformation method is adopted for analysis and simplified calculation method is given for the calculation of displacement field in this article.Depending on project example, the calculation results are checked and analyzed in this article. Firstly, compare the calculated settlement data of Jinjia Courtyard through simplified calculation formula with that of actual measurement. In the meantime, apply finite element software for relevant simulation. Then argue on the rationality of results through calculation formula for displacement field and the feasibility of numerical simulation on the basis of results through calculation and simulation. For comprehensive study, numerical simulation on the incidence of raft and pile length to surrounding buildings is taken in this article. When getting the same pile diameter and pile length, the influence of pile foundation with raft is greater. The influence decreases as the pile length increases. When the pile length is larger than one specific value, the high-rise buildings get small settlement itself and no influence exists on the surrounding buildings.
