With economic growth, the number of vehicles in China is increasing year by year. According to the traffic administration department, by the end of December 2015, the number of vehicles is over 172 million in China, the quantity is next to the United States and become the second of the world. The problem with the increase of vehicle is parking. In some large public buildings or large living areas, underground parking area are large, even contains thousands of parking units. How to make the owners park effectively has become a problem. In this paper, we made a comprehensive consideration to park guidance and energy saving, combined with parking management technology and Internet of Things technology. Design and implementation of an underground parking light guiding system, including the following three parts:vehicle routing optimization algorithm, hardware system development and management software development. The specific work is as follows:Firstly, according to the demand of the light guide system for underground parking lots, a design scheme based on IOT technology. The light guide network node and the lamp controller have been developed to build the parking lot light guiding system. The hardware system can realize the underground parking field light guiding function, including license plate recognition and entrance control. It includes light guiding network nodes, lamp controller, parking detector and guide screen. The license plate recognition part excutes vehicle recognition. Light guiding network node is to transmit control host computer signals. Lamp controller control lamps directly, and parking detectors sense parking state in real time. Guiding screens placed in intersections of the parking lot guide parking.Secondly, we put forward a path optimization algorithm based on the principle of shortest path and least energy consumption. The optimal path algorithm is based on ant colony algorithm to calculate the optimal path from the entrance to each parking unit. On this basis, we make bend straightening optimization and optimization of turning times, which accelerated the speed of convergence. Hence it can output the optimal path which have the shortest distance and the least times of turning.Finally, we developed a management software of the underground parking light guiding system. The management software is developed based on C/S architecture by using C# language, which is the core of the entire light guiding system. It could save the vehicle basic information and the optimal path. When a vehicle enters, the management software call a database information routine automatically, and send control instructions to on-site hardware devices. So that it can realize the path’s light guiding. When a vehicle leaves, parking detector’s state would be changed and it transfer to PC, PC will guide the vehicle to leave.In this paper, the underground parking lot light guiding system developed can not only make vehicle management, but also guiding vehicles to the parking lot conveniently. It can save time and fossil fuels. Meanwhile when there is not a vehicle, it can turn off lane lamps, save electrical energy, provide a new method for parking management systems.
