As one of the most widely used weapons, artillery plays an important role in modern warfare. In military research, it’s a hot issue that how to train effectively and improve the combat capability of artillery quickly. In the gun shooting training exercises, the hitting probability is a key assessment indicator. It’s important for correcting projection and improving the level of projection to know shell explosion position. Multiple flash point video positioning and playback system was designed around bombing point positioning firmly.Multiple flash point Video positioning and playback system was written in C# and EmguCV. It captures video by two cameras and transfers the video to industrial control computer by network. The software part of the system can parse video as video frames. When the video is playing at the main interface, the system detects bombing point using image processing algorithm and calculates the actual space coordinates of the bombing point by dual CCD intersection measurement model. Among them, the bombing point detection algorithm is proposed based on the video image processing algorithm. It includes the gray scale, background difference, filtering, mathematical morphology operation, object segmentation. This algorithm can detect the bombing point effectively and accurately. Using the pixel offset of bombing point relative to aiming point and the specific parameters obtained by the camera calibration, the dual CCD camera intersection measurement model can calculate the horizontal rotation angles and the horizontal inclination angles of the two CCD cameras when they aim at the bombing point and then obtain the coordinates of the bombing point in real space. In addition, the system also provides the function of video playback. It can play the captured video again and verify the bombing point detection and location algorithm offline.With friendly interface and efficient algorithm, multiple flash point video positioning and playback system can accurately detect the bombing point and calculate the actual location of the shell explosion. Compared with the traditional measurement method, this system can not only improve the measurement accuracy, but also increase the safety of personnel and the convenience of operation, which will greatly improve the efficiency of artillery drills.
