Space vector modulation (SVM) for multilevel converter has these features:easy to implement in digital signal processor, good utilization of dc-link voltage, lower total hoarmonic distortion (THD) of output power, less switching frequency. However, many space vectors exist, a large amount of calculation is necessary and the power switching loss can be optimized. This paper is mainly deal with the optimization of the calculation amount and the power switching loss.First of all, this paper presents a comparison among four SVPWM based on different coordinate. Through realizing four SVPWM in C language to quantify the amount of calculation, the rapidity analysis is researched.Secondly, traces of reference voltage under different modulations are presented. The switching sequence can be optimized to minimize the output phase voltage changes; thereafter the number of switching times is decreased. Finally, experimental setup is designed, which includes the control circuit and the main power circuit. Multilevel inverter space vector modulation algorithm is implemented in microcontroller. Control signals are sent to the inverter through the driving circuit.
