Battery energy storage system become more and more important because of the randomness of the output power of new energy power generation and the need of the structure of the micro grid. The battery energy storage system can peak load shifting, improve the stability of the system, and stabilize the power fluctuation and impove power quality. Energy storge converter is an important part of the battery energy storage system. It connects the electricity grid and batteries. It can switch the power to each other. However, the parameters of energy storge converter system may change as environment changes, which lead to bad performance of traditional control strategy. In the paper, two adaptive control strategies are put forward to suit to the changes of the parameters. The main work in the paper is list as follows:Firstly, building mathematical model of the energy storge converter and doing research on proportional-integral control strategy. And doing simulation experiment and the control system performs well. But the control effect becomes poor when the values of resistance and inductance changes.Secondly, Narendra adaptive controller is designed. A mathematical model of controlled device is build. Then choose a suitable reference model. A Narendra controller is designed based on the mathematical model of control device and reference model. The parameters of adaptive control system are determined.Thirdly, Backstepping controller is designed. The method is that dividing complex higher order systems into several subsystems that not exceeding the system order, and designed control strategy of subsystems by choose fitable Lyapunov function, then recursing to the whole system.Fourthly, doing experiment on fuel cell power system. And the results show that the fuel cell power system operates in a good state, so it is suitable to the practical system.
