The vehicle converter in a large number of devices commonly integrated in a compact space with a box, the loss of heat will affect the working state of the converter, so by thermal analysis of design optimization, to ensure the converter working stability and safety is of great significance. In this paper, the power loss of the converter is studied, and the method of the internal temperature in the operation of the simulation device is studied. The results can be compared with the experimental data, which can effectively guide the thermal design work.In this paper, the thermal design and development of electrical equipment and the loss analysis and temperature rise estimation, system analysis of domestic and international research results and the existence of problems. Aiming at the IGBT loss, the main factors affecting the IGBT loss are analyzed and summarized, and the calculation method of the loss is analyzed. In the subway, auxiliary converter and DC600V/DC110 V charger as the research object, analyzes the heat transfer principle and research method, makes a comprehensive analysis of the three modes of heat transfer basic principle, process characteristics, influence factors and calculation methods. On the power module, transformer, reactor and other important units to do a specific cooling system loss calculation and research. The model analysis, numerical calculation and experimental verification of the auxiliary converter and DC600V/DC110 V charger are carried out by the thermal simulation analysis method. Using FloTHERM thermal simulation software, through the model establishment, solution and post-processing, obtained the temperature distribution, the flow field distribution and so on simulation analysis result. The comparison of simulation results with experimental results shows that the simulation results are in good accordance with the simulation results, which verify the effectiveness of the simulation analysis. The results show that the thermal simulation method has reference value for the thermal design of the converter, which has important guiding significance to ensure the design quality, shorten the design cycle and reduce the design cost.
