Asphalt pavement, which is the major structure for high-grade pavement in China, plays a decisive role in the development of highway traffic. Research on the asphalt pavement focused on structural properties, material properties, the study of environmental factors is still in a semi-blank state, simply takes into account the effect of temperature and humidity. The complexity of the geographical environment, climate variability, it is necessary according to the different environmental conditions to explore the development trend of different types of damage to the road surface,provide the basis for Pavement Maintenance Decision.In this dissertation, firstly the latest research progress about the design method of asphalt pavement was comprehensively reviewed, Foundation MEPDG research progress in the our country. Full account of regions of Sichuan asphalt pavement structure type and the characteristics of environmental, prediction analysis the damage to the performance of asphalt pavement structure, further draw performance pavement structure. The major research results are summarized as follow:①establishing climate model (EICM) of different regions of Sichuan province(Chengdu, Ya’an, Litang), summarize and analyze the different types of pavement damage of different environmental factors (temperature, humidity, solar radiation, wind speed).②Comparative analysis of the traffic volume of our country design specifications and design method of MEPDG.③making predictions of the typical pavement performance in different climatic regions of Sichuan province. The environmental characteristic in Chengdu is hot,rainy, traffic volume and high proportion of heavy traffic, resulting in severe rutting and reticular cracks. So the region of Chengdu’s recommended pavement structure is 18cm asphalt concrete surface layer,25cm cement stabilized crushed stone base,30cm cement stabilized gravel subbase. Ya’an is the wettest areas of Sichuan Province, the water seriously damaged of the Pavement, under the action of wheel load and water, the cracks development quickly in the pavement structure. The region of Ya’an recommended pavement is 20cm asphalt concrete pavement structure surface layer,25cm cement stabilized crushed stone base,35cm cement stabilized gravel subbase. The environmental characteristic in Litang area is wide temperature change, strong ultraviolet radiation, reflecting the pavement cracks,severe fatigue cracks and longitudinal cracks damage, The region of Litang recommended pavement is 18cm asphalt concrete pavement structure surface layer,25cm asphalt concrete crushed stone base,30cm graded gravel subbase.④Based MEPDG predictions for different regions of the recommended pavement structure, calculate road damage condition index PCI, roads quality index RQI, rutting depth index RDI, pavement performance index PQI, provide data basis for road repair and maintenance decisions about conservation maintenance program. Chengdu depend rut depth pavement structure, the use of slurry seal, micro surfacing, stone chip seal coat, overlay, renovation and other measures; Ya’an severe water damage, water damage can cause micro infiltration pavement Pavement structure further deterioration, so pay attention to preventive maintenance of the pavement structure, routine surveillance and inspection of the pavement structure, to take timely conservation programs. Litang area asphalt aging serious, serious longitudinal cracks and crack mesh, maintenance and repair should adopt a functional overlay.
