With the application of the cable more and more extensive, the frequency of the cable fault is also getting higher and higher. At present, domestic and international cable fault location technology, can not accurately and efficiently locate the fault. Thus, to achieve more rapid cable fault location, having immediate practical significance. Taking the pulse reflection method was designed based on the corresponding control processing circuit, and wavelet algorithm signal analysis and processing. The main work is as follows:First, the basic knowledge of cable faults, including the reasons for failure, as well as the classification and analysis of several common fault location methods. It analyzes and compares several traditional detection methods, then combined with the actual situation to determine the design of this article. The design includes two parts:First, the design pulse source transmitting circuit, and second signal acquisition, processing module hardware and software design, and finally the collected signal denoising using wavelet algorithm to give accurate waveform so that more accurate the fault location.In this thesis, the hardware design fault location system mainly comprises:a pulse source circuit design uses a ZVS high voltage power supply; signal acquisition, processing control circuit used is DSP chip TMS320LF2407A; data sampling using a DSP chip embedded A/D. Software design fault location system is primarily upper and lower computer software debugging tools, and serial communication between each other. The core of the problem is the data acquisition and signal processing modules, and finally analog cable to the case open and short circuit faults cable down through the actual test. Tests show no problems in the system hardware and software design, everything is running normally, and processed by the signal waveform to achieve the expected results, the successful implementation of the fault location.
