In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy, the automobile has become an essential transport for ordinary household. However, serious traffic congestions and frequent accidents which are caused by an increasing number of cars gradually raise awareness of the importance of driving safety. Currently, in various visual assisted parking systems, panoramic display system can provides a real-time aerial view around the vehicle for the driver and effectively eliminate the visual blind spot around the car, which has become a reliable assistive tools for park assist.Vehicle panoramic display system is an embedded video processing system used in automotive electronics.Its working principle are as follws, through panoramic camera which installed in four directions——forward, back, left and right collects four images at the same time. Then the four images utilize video decoder to get digital signal and output to the main control chip. The chip is responsible for dealing with distortion correction and seamless stitching of the four images and ultimately generates a panoramic image around the car. This system is specifically designed for driving safety systems and people can comprehensive observe the blind spot during driving and parking, which has greatly increased the safety factor for driving. The design includes two aspects:Panoramic camera design:According to the large perspective requirements of panoramic display system, we designed a high-performance panoramic camera. It adopted fish-eye lens imaging technology and its circular imaging viewing angle can reach 210 degrees. Imaging chip adopts U.S. Omnivision company’s CMOS image sensor — OV7962. This part make a detailed introduction in many aspects, such as the matching problem between fisheye lens and image sensors, the building of cameras debugging platform, the adjustment of image sensor parameter, Electro Magnetic Compatibility protection of the camera hardware interface circuit and the assessment of camera imaging result. The conclusion indicated that the panoramic camera has many advantages in excellent image quality, large angle, resisting outside interference and etc.The design of panoramic display system hardware circuit and software algorithm:This paper introduces the hardware circuitry of each module of the panoramic display system in detailed and analyzes the specific design parameters. The main parts of hardware circuit includes the main chip configuration module, the power supply modules for system, memory configuration, the audio processing sub-module, video processing sub-module, video output module, CAN bus interface,1000M Ethernet interface, PCIE interface, USB, SD card and etc. This paper demonstrates the debug data in the process of the hardware circuit debugging process and final design results. After a comprehensive analysis and test evaluation indicate that this hardware system design owns small noise coefficient and stable performance under the premise of considering the design costs. In software algorithm part mainly introduced the panoramic display system in dealing with the image data stream, including distortion correction, perspective transformation and panorama stitching. In addition, this paper shows the final mosaic effect after the algorithm was loaded into the Linux system.
