In recent years, accelerators have made significant progress and widely used in scientific research, industrial and agricultural production, health care, defense and other aspects. As a national scientific experimental device, synchrotron radiation accelerator represents the level of development of fundamental physics and keeps making progress. With the accelerator beam energy and intensity continuous improvement, high-energy physics research has also making new breakthrough. Synchrotron radiation source from the accelerator has a variety of excellent properties, and this makes it very important in many fields of application. In particle accelerators, the secondary electrons resulting from the interaction between particles and vacuum chamber have a great impact on beam quality. Especially for positron and proton accelerators, massive electrons lead to electron cloud, which affects the stability, energy, emittance and beam life adversely. While secondary electron research of material also has a very wide range of applications, in addition to vacuum chamber surface materials research of accelerator storage ring, others such as spacecraft surface materials and scanning electron microscope. We have studied the secondary electron emission (SEE) of metal used for accelerators. A secondary electron emission measurement system with 0-5000eV low energy electron gun has been designed and used to measure the SEE yield of materials. With the secondary electron emission yield (SEY) test setup, we have obtained the characteristic of the SEE yield of stainless steel, oxygen free copper (OFC) and graphene. In the future, the device can be used for secondary electron yield testing of more materials and promote secondary electron surface research continues to develop.
