With the development of the global shipping industry, the throughput of the port is increasing rapidly, at the same time, the air pollution of the port by the ship is also getting more and more serious, many countries began to pay more attention to the environmental protection of the port area, therefore, the voice of using non polluting shore power supply instead of using the marine generator supply is increasing. Most of the existing shore power supply are not related to frequency conversion, so they can only supply the single frequency’ power for ships, thus limiting their scope of use. In this paper, based on the actual engineering project, the control strategy of the shore power converter which can output 50/60Hz dual frequency was studied, and the following research work was done:(1) The practical significance of using the ship shore power technology was analyzed, the general structure of the shore power system and several power supply modes were introduced, the research status of the control technology of the shore power converter was studied.(2) The topology of the shore power converter was designed, the mathematical model of the shore power converter in the three-phase static coordinate system was established, and the mathematical model in the two-phase stationary and two-phase rotating coordinate system were established by using coordinate transformation.(3) The constant DC voltage and reactive current control strategy of the rectifier side in the two phase rotating coordinate system was designed, the constant 50/60Hz AC voltage control strategy of the inverter side in the two phase rotating coordinate system was designed, and the SVPWM control algorithm was deduced in detail.(4) The model of shore power converter system was built through using PSCAD simulation software, the basic control functions under steady-state operating conditions and the dynamic operating conditions were simulated by using the designed control strategy, the control strategy was shown to be effective through the simulation results.(5) On the basis of theoretical analysis and simulation verification, one prototype of 1MVA shore power converter was developed, the general structure of the control system, the principle of the protection function, the control function of the DSP control board and the touch interface function setting of the host computer were introduced. At last, an experimental platform for the prototype of shore power converter was built, then parts of the control and protection function experiments of the prototype were completed, the experimental results show that the prototype system had good control performance, which proved the validity of the theoretical analysis and algorithm simulation.
