In recent years, wind power, photovoltaic and other renewable energy has got more and more people’s attention. Along with the application of the energy, power electronics equipment has been more and more access to the power grid. Due to MMC’s higher voltage class, strong flexibility and low switching frequency characteristics, it has attracted the attention of the researchers at home and abroad.First of all, this thesis analyses on the physical topology structure and working principle of MMC are analyzed, and get the corresponding mathematical model, aimed at how to stabilize the DC side voltage and MMC problem which conclude no-controlled stage and controlled stage. In the stage of the no-controlled stage,this thesis mainly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of different charging methods, which to determine the charging method of a kind of more economic and security.This thesis mainly analysis the carrier phase shift and recent level modulation at controlled stage. In recent studies level modulation process, through to, this paper proposes a new kind of module voltage stabilizing strategy according to the recent past neutron module voltage level modulation strategy analysis, and in the perspective of the theory the thesis confirmed the new recently level modulation control strategy can under the condition of the lower switching frequency and have very good voltage control effect. Then carrying on the modeling and simulation using PSCAD software,setting up 13 level MMC and low voltage corresponding to the physical model simulation model, and comparing the various voltage parameters in two kinds of control strategy. It confirmed the control strategy proposed in this paper on the effect is better than that of the carrier phase shifting control strategy from the perspective of simulation.Finally,13 levels MMC rectifier based on RTDS experiment combined with my internship program was carried out. Related to recent level modulation control strategy, optimization, and applied to the prototype of MMC, using experimental results to further demonstrate that the control strategy of related optimization to have the desired effect.
