Traditional DC motor has brush and mechanical commentator, so its has the shortcomings of complex structure. easy to generate electric spark and vulnerable to influence by environmental, which reduces its working reliability and limits its scope of using. Using electronic inverter circuit instead of mechanical commutator, brushless DC motor not only has the characteristics of DC motor’s good speed regulating performance, but also has the advantages of AC motor’s simple structure, reliable operation and easy maintenance.The drive control system of brushless DC motor is studied in this paper, the main work is as follows:1. The basic working principle of brushless DC motor and sensorless control method are analyzed. In addition, the torque ripple suppression, PWM modulation strategy, starting strategy, line back EMF 12 step driving control theory and improved majority detection function are studied.2. Based on the MATLAB software platform, two double closed loop simulation model are built, one is based on PI regulation of speed and current, and the other one is based on hysteresis regulation of current and PI regulation of speed. The simulation results are analyzed.3. The wide and high input three output switching power supply is designed and its hardware welding and the whole machine debugging are completed, which is realized for the power supply of motor control system. And the hardware control platform based on DSPIC33FJ32MC204 is completed.4. The system control software is designed, which mainly composed of the main program flow chart, starting module, ADC sampling interrupt module, PWM interrupt module, commutation timer interrupt module. On the basis of hardware circuit, two control experiments are carried out based on the Hall signal commutation and sensorless commutation. The experimental results show that the hardware platform and software program are stable and reliable.
