With the rapid development of transportation in our country bridge as a transportation hub is playing a more and more important role and the application of concrete bridge is relatively common. The bridge will inevitably occur several material performance degradation phenomenon in it’s service lifetime because of the influence of external environment, leading to a decline in its durability and security even bridge collapse accident, which cause a huge economic loss. Therefore, study on concrete bridge’s safety and countermeasures due to material performance degradation has very important significance. This thesis’s mainly researches are implemented as follows:(1) The security situation and the present situation of concrete bridge due to material performance degradation are analyzed.(2)Under the effects of concrete carbonation, corrosion of steel bars and concrete freeze-thaw cycle factors, the disasters phenomenon of concrete bridge structure are summarized. What’s more this thesis also disscuss the material performance degradation mechanism, influencing factors, detection method, prevention and countermeasures, the lack of regulations and the development direction of corresponding research in the future.(3) Several security measures such as the bridge safety inspection system and bridge management system as well as bridge health monitoring system’s disadvantages and future development direction are compared and analyzed based on the relevant knowledge of the bridge safety risk management.(4) The material performance degradation’s effects on concrete bridge’s safety is summarized and the development direction of bridge’s safety strategy in the future is proposed.
