With the development of technology on mechanical design and manufacturing, incoming of the Industry Time 4.0 heralds that the concept of intelligence is getting deeper and deeper into the mechanical area. In order to improve the design and manufacturing quality and efficiency of the globoidal cam, there is a new developing direction for globoidal cam intelligent CAD system. In this article, based on the change of globoidal cam and development of technologies, it combines the design of globoidal cam with NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-spline), CBR(Case-Based Reasoning), RBR(Rule-Based Reasoning) and Rough Set into the globoidal cam intelligent CAD system. The contents are following:1. Aimed at the research status and development trend of intelligence, B-spline and Secondary Development, it raised the overall structure of globoidal cam intelligent CAD system, and descirbed the details of the innovative method.2. Because the contour of globoidal cam is non-development, so it cannot acquired by conventional design method directly. In order to solve this problem, according to the development and application of NURBS, this article used NURBS surface fitting technology to convert the contour equation into contour model.3. Accroding to the requirement of intelligence, this paper used the parameters knowledge base add the hybrid reasoning algorithm, and replaced the artificial method by the Rough Set to ensure the weights of indexing parameters. This method increasing the reliability of hybrid intelligent algorithm in globoidal cam intelligent CAD system.4. This paper studied the intergration problem among hybrid intelligent algorithm, MATLAB and Solidworks. It accomplish the interactive transmission of design information by parametric design, and it solve the problem of designing the globoidal cam contour. By certified by experiment, it can be said that the intelligent CAD system of globoidal cam is effective.
