With the development of modern industries, agriculture and transportations, the economics, reliability and efficiency of buck transportation have been increasingly required. In the large scale coal system, it should pay more attention to the performance, stability and economics of the conveyer with the increasing transport distance and complexity of the transport lines.There are three transportation modes for the large scale coal system, and they are train transport car transport and transporting by the belt conveyor. The belt conveyor is widely used in the large scale coal system because of its advantages of high efficiency, stable operation, low cost, low accident rate and being free from outside environment (e.g. climate).Since the number of equipment directly affects the failure rate of the system in the large scale coal system, increasing the length of belt conveyor can reduce reshipment link, the work of equipment maintenance, pollution of coal dust and noise under technical conditions. Above questions of the coal transportation system were solved by the long distance belt conveyor.In the design of long distance belt conveyor, how to reduce the belt strength is one of the important problems. Conveyer belt costs accounted a larger proportion for a one-time investment and late operation and maintenance costs. Conveyer belt with high belt strength is poor trenching performance and joint efficiency, useless power is increasing with the weight, energy waste will be made. The plane turning radius will be increased by high tension of the conveyor belt, then the difficulty of design and construction will be increased, the whole arrangement is limited in complex terrain. In view of the above key issues, combined with the regional topography of Manlai mine industrial site, design on long distance coal transport system and its key techniques are presented; a study of the following aspects is launched in the dissertation.Firstly, this thesis presents the features, development and key techniques of long distance coal transport system and explains the significance of this study.Secondly, the design scheme for the long distance coal transport system is presented and theoretically validated. Combining with the regional topography of one of Neimeng’s mine industrial site, transport scheme of the belt conveyor with 9.4 km length is determined after field survey and measurement. The related key techniques were analyzed, such as distribution of driving torque, arrangement of driving device, tension analysis of multi-point drive, space turning radius, belt deviation. Technological process and freight volume are designed and the related transport equipment is configured.Finally, a control program and software interphase is developed to realize the precise analysis on the static and dynamic characteristics of the system. Through the control program, the main technique parameters and related equipment are determined. The complete long distance coal transport system is designed and produced. Based on the feedback of the field usage, the long distance coal transport system for one of Neimeng’s mine is effective.
