A Study On The Features The Region Cultures Embody In The Planning And Design Of Yuxi Riveer Park In Yulin City

The river is closely related to the living and the development of human beings. It bears the soul of urban civilization, and precipitated the urban region culture. With the economic development and rapid urbanization, urban river parks arise, which improve urban ecological environment, enrich citizens’ life and embody the culture quality of the city. In order to avoid similarities---“remain and inherit historical culture” in the construction of riverside landscape, constructing the riverside landscape full of regional culture is an effective way to improve the cultural recognition of the city and to inherit urban historic culture. It is a question worth considering for designers nowadays how to integrate region cultures into riverside landscape to create eternal and unique landscape and environment.Based on the regional cultures as the breakthrough point, the thesis is a study based on regional culture, theories on the design of riverside landscape, and theories on regional culture. Choosing Yuxi River Park as the research instance, the author studies the combination of the meanings of region culture in various landscape elements and the planning and design of riverside landscape. The application that region cultures embody in the planning and design of landscape are discussed. A systematic induction on the characteristic culture---“ frontier culture” in Yulin city; An emphasis on the importance of region culture in the construction of landscape. The author made a statement on the expressive strategies of region culture in riverside park landscape construction, including the principles, carriers, expressing means and etc., and based on the former study, combined with the features of regional culture of Yuxi River Park in Yulin in planning and design, the author studies the embodiment of regional riverside landscape in detail. Through a full analysis on the relationship between the design of Yuxi River Park landscape and the expression means of various landscape for region culture, the author discusses to make regional theory be the theoretical foundation and guidance, and makes a beneficial exploration and try in the application and design theory in region culture in riverside landscape design.
