With the increasing in quanlitiy and frequency of domestic and international rail tunnels.The study methods the surrounding rock stability are becoming more diversified. In underground tunnel engineering structure,surrounding rock (strata) plays major role.In tunnel construction,the greatest concern is the stability of surrounding rock after the excavation.Therefore,the stability of surrounding rock tunnel is a reasonable reflection of the engineering properties.It is also one of the important characteristics of surrounding rock for the tunnel construction. The author describes the present situation of theoretical and experimental study on the surrounding rocks stability of railway tunnel, and the surrounding rock stability of the Xian Yun tunnel.Geological conditions is the majority line (Guangtong-Dali) of NO.6 tenders landmark projects,but also the control engineering of the whole line tunnel length of 6940m,the maximum depth of about 430m,geological conditions is extremely complex,construction period is long,high construction safety risk,designed for high-risk stage I geological conditions. Therefore,the analysis of the stability of the surrounding rock is necessary to ensure the construction,according to research the results,we can optimize the construction program, and remove the danger.In this paper, two consequent methods have been taken to analyze the wall rock stability: firstly, different rocks from excavation site were sampled for the creep tests, to obtain physical and mechanical parameters;secondly,experimaintal tests were carried out to get the the rock rheological parameters,and then ANSYS software was used to simulate the process of the tunneling.Combining these two comprehensive analysis on stability of surrounding tunnel the stability of the wall rock was targetted.
