Power flow calculation is the foundation of a variety of power system calculation,and it is also an important means of power system research. Combined with the MATLAB software, two classical flow calculation algorithms- the Newton Method and the Gauss- Seidel Method are used to calculate the power flow calculation results of Sichuan Huaneng Dongxiguan Power Station’s main electrical wiring separately in this paper. Based on the true value of the power station and the results of Power System Analysis Software Package(referred PSASP), the performance of these two algorithms in this design is compared and analysed. So a mixed plow flow calculation algorithm of the main electrical wiring of Dongxiguan Power Station is obtained in this paper.The mixed calculation algorithm is better than PSASP in accuracy. Eventually, based on this mixed algorithm, this paper designs a power flow calculation software of the main electrical wiring of Dongxiguan Power Station.Firstly, this paper describes the fundamental theory of power flow calculation in detail, focusing on the principles and calculation process of the Newton Method and the Gauss- Seidel Method, then describes the MATLAB programming ideas and steps of these two algorithms, and gives the calculation results of these two algorithms. Next this paper describes how to use Power System Analysis Software Package which is an important tool software in power flow calulation in detail, and gives the calculation results of PSASP. A relatively complete mixed plow flow calculation algorithm of the main electrical wiring of Dongxiguan Power Station is obtained eventually in this paper.This mixed algorithm has not only the advantage of the Newton Method in convergence and accuracy,but also the advantage of the Gauss – Seidel Method in speed.This paper provides power stations some theoretical reference because of the completion of the power flow calculation as well as the comparison. In addition, this paper obtains a power flow calculation software of the main electrical wiring of Dongxiguan Power Station, so that it helps my work unit in many aspects such as immediate control and technical innovation. Therefore, this paper has a high practical value.
