In order to explore the driving fatigue and mental workload on the injury mechanism of sustained attention, we set experiment of driver fatigue and mental workload. In the experimental study of fatigue, we through laboratory experimental design abstract expression traffic, to trace the ring and target as the main task simulation in actual traffic following and tracing, to randomly flash red point stimulation in real traffic burst stimulation simulation. Using the method of subjective scale, behavior performance, and ERP technology combined with the analysis of the effect of fatigue on sustained attention. The results showed that with the increase of the degree of fatigue, the level of sustained attention was significantly decreased, the main performance of the subjective fatigue score increased significantly, and the behavior performance was significantly decreased. Compared with the interval 1, P1, amplitude and latency of the N1 component in interval 2 had no significant change; the amplitude of the P2 component in interval 2 decreased significantly; the N2b component amplitude increased significantly in the second stage, latency was significantly longer; P3 amplitude in phase 2 decreased significantly, latent period significantly prolonged. In the research of mental workload, the use of the 2 degree of freedom large passenger car driving simulator, the use of the experimental paradigm of double recognition. The operation of mental workload through the front vehicle speed, analysis of high and low load sustained attention changes and mechanism of injury level. The results showed that the level of sustained attention was significantly decreased, the main performance was significantly increased, and the behavior performance was significantly decreased. Under the condition of low load, the P1 component latency was longer in high load condition, the N1 component peak was more negative, but the latency was shorter, the amplitude of P2 component was larger, the latency was longer, the amplitude of P3 component was significantly decreased.Due to a significant increase in the subjects of fatigue and mental with, making is the primary task difficulty increased, have to need more mental resources has completed the task of tracking, so that is able to allocate resources to detecting a random signal is significantly reduced. Not only need to spend a greater amount of resources, but also lead to the attention of the signal, identification, processing difficulty increases, the assessment time to extend.
