| Geosynthetic-reinforced and pile-supported composite foundation has been widely used in many kinds of soft soil foundation treatment. This type foundation extends to relationships of pile, soil between piles, lateral reinforcement, cushion and so on. It’s complex and a lot of study had done plenty of works including model tests, field tests, numerical simulation and theoretical analysis to research it. However it’s hard to see the variation of each component of the composite foundation during the loading process. So we know little about the characters of the composite foundation when changing. This paper would use the transparent soil to do the indoor model test of the geosynthetic-reinforced and pile-supported composite foundation and use the ABAQUS to analyse the model test, then contraste the results from ABAQUS with the results from the model test. The main contents are as follows:(1) We use the precipitated silica,15#mineral oil and EI solvent to make up the transparent soil to replace the soil for the model test. We also research the features that including the influence on the transparent soil when the moisture content changed. At last, we find that we can use the transparent soil to replace the normal soil.(2) The model test is to research geosynthetic-reinforced and pile-supported composite foundation through the use of the transparent soil. And it is combined with the PIV to research the change of the inside of the foundation.(3) ABAQUS is used to research the interactions between the pile, the soil and the geogrid when there is load on the composite foundation. Then we contraste the results from ABAQUS with the results from the model test. Through comparative analysis, we know that the indoor model test is possible using the transparent soil and PIV, and test result intuitively comes out. Finally we can obtain the interaction between soil and structure and its deformation behavior.(4) The paper proposes three dimensional PIV analysis method which can be used in the experiment of this model. |
