As the significant components of the whole electrical communication system, power units, environment units and security units in communication rooms increasingly catch competent departments’eyes at all levels; and have already been a part of indicator of production performance. Problems exist in former monthly manual inspection:problems discovered not in time, low information technology, decentralized management of resources, poor correlated system, and lack of intelligent management methods.Given particularities of communication rooms in substations, this design for comprehensive and intelligent monitoring system of dynamic environment in communication rooms is based on practical needs in work, following the principles of economical efficiency, high practicability, integration, reliability and compatibility. Meanwhile, aiming at the situation that no operation and maintenance staff is on duty in communication rooms, it propose an SMS alarm mode, alarm classification, alarm transmission mode optimization, and SMS storms prevention. Apart from communicational power units, environment units and security units, the design does substation’s specific carrier communication units monitoring, remote power line carrier monitoring, real-time devices’ status checking, and information and events recording. Finally, according to problems discovered in monitoring system tests, and combining with requests of management standardization, it propose a set of standard defect managements.This economic efficient and practical system fully utilizes existing resources in communication rooms; overall considers the cost of construction, upgrade and post-maintenance of monitoring system. It adopts intergraded design, gathers functions from many devices, provides various ways for sensors, cuts investment and reduces operation and maintenance difficulties in communication rooms. The system has reliable protective mechanism. The server in monitoring center are dual hot backup servers. The host in monitor unit uses a power supply mode by dual powers, providing reliability of power supply. The transmitting mode uses integrated data networks and 2M multiplexing channel redundancy, promising real-time unblocked channels. The system provides standard device interfaces; following protocols of monitored devices or system, flexibly put them into monitoring system, gets the most from existing resources; and needs no more investment.
