In recent years, many scholars in the world make a lot of further research es and extension about Pushover analysis method, which is based on performance-based seismic design. And Pushover analysis method of high-rise structure has obtained some achievements. However, it cannot be applied to the practical projects as for it is not mature enough. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a study on applicability and guarantee rate of this method.In this article, firstly, it summarizes the developments o f Pushover analysis method and Pushover analysis of high-rise frame structure both home and abroad. It also elaborates the basic principles of the method, different lateral load pattern and SA2000 program. Besides, it proposes fundamental principles and general steps of Pushover actual demand spectrum analysis method. Then it introduces the common points and differences between general multi-layer frame structure and high-rise frame structure, and the influences on performance point of high-rise frame structure and top displacement.Secondly, in order to conduct Pushover analysis more accurately, the author also considers Pushover analysis of higher modes, which combines the Mat Lab software program and SAP2000 program. It transforms the assumption of high-rise frame structure Pushover analysis method of MPA lateral load pattern into reality and discusses the effects from different loading mode on high-rise structure.Lastly, a ten-layer three-dimensional framework is used to analyze the three-dimensional high-rise frame structure deterministic analysis top displacement and Pushover actual demand analysis top displacement under various ground conditions. According to the statistical analysis principle, this article researched the probability distribution of top displacement, and confirms the guarantee rate and applicability of deterministic three-dimensional high-rise frame structure pushover analysis. The conclusion shows that the guarantee rate is higher when structural deformation enters into the elastic-plastic state as the earthquake. In this case, pushover is a reliable evaluation method of seismic performance. But the guarantee rate is lower when structural deformation keeps the elastic state. Hence, Three dimensional high-rise frame structure pushover analysis method can be applied to elastic-plastic analysis, that is to say,,it is invalid to elastic analysis.
