There are variously of vehicles and pedestrians loading on pavements day and night. Vibration, deformation, abrasion and other diseases were caused by those loading energy. And those mechanical energy will be ultimately dissipation in the form of thermal energy in the environment. To collect the waste of energy, and use it in traffic ancillary facilities is the dream of road work for many years. Piezoelectric transducer is the transformer that the mechanical energy was transformed to electrical energy. In this paper, stack type piezoelectric transducer were used to collect the road vibration energy, What’s more the piezoelectric energy harvesting device for pavement condition were conducted by piezoelectric stacks transducer.First of all, piezoelectric energy harvesting theories were analyzed, Including of the mechanism of piezoelectric effects, the piezoelectric materials and parameters, the piezoelectric power generation mechanism, the structure of the piezoelectric transducer and the transducer encapsulation, and the energy collecting circuit. Both A kind of suitable piezoelectric material and an optimal structure of piezoelectric transducer were chosen for pavement condition.Then, the piezoelectric transducer for pavement condition were fabricated and tested. Especially, the efficiency for the transducer was researched. The piezoelectric ceramic PZT- 5H was selected as the material for transducer. And parallel connection was chose as the internal connection. Besides, the efficiency of rigid and flexible packaging was tested. It was tested that while the roads does not cause the stress depolarization of piezoelectric materials and the effect of frequency below the resonance frequency of the transducer, the output energy will increase with the raise of load and frequency. Neither rigid packed nor flexible packed conduct the reduction of the output energy.In addition, the energy harvesting device was designed and made which composed of 12 groups of piezoelectric transducer. Both the sealing was tested by hydrostatic pressure test and the intensity was conducted by loading test. The output attenuation and fatigue performance was tested by MMLS test. and the durability of the device was tested in the 320 National highway in Kunming.Finally, the installation method for the piezoelectric energy harvesting device was proposed. The average output power was provided is about 14 m W for the device. And about 180 LED lights could be lighted by all the devices...
