The research content of this paper is to optimize the electric power steering system of the power curve. And to improve the driving portability, road feeling, returning ability control strategy etc. In addition to the steering characteristic optimization, simulation/vehicle test, evaluation of driving comfort of the driver. The key of this paper is to optimize vehicle ideal power characteristic curves. Control model of EPS was established suitable. Then handling comfort evaluation of the optimization to the driver’s control in the process before and after was realized.To consult the domestic and international electric power steering system of relevant research literature and on the basis of analysis of the auto industry is facing the opportunities and challenges. Review the electric power steering system development process and the status quo. The electric power steering system components and working principles were analyzed. Simple comfortable operation of evaluation method on this basis also was put forward. Then the purpose and significance of the research topic were elaborated. The organization of the thesis is given. Then on the electric power steering system composition principle are summarized. And the power steering system key components performance was analyzed in detail. Finally, based on the electric power steering system was superior to the traditional steering system characteristics determined appropriate hardware. The components of human manipulation comfort were analyzed. Then the electric power steering system dynamics modeling and evaluation method researched. First of all, the establishment of electric power steering system dynamics model. Then each component and the whole system simulation model were established under the MATLAB environment. The model parameters of the system are described. On the state control system a simple driver manipulation model was described, to evaluate the comfort of the basic operation of the process. Secondly, the ideal power curve model and reasonable evaluation method was proposed. Then put forward the optimization control method. Finally, by changing the control strategy, improved vehicle assist characteristic curve and simulation verification was evaluated. In the end, the general electric power steering system was analyzed. First, based on the electric power steering system the steering torque in the process of analysis of assist characteristic, the steering assist curve design principle was analyzed. Design electric power characteristic curve types and characteristics of parameters for this topic. Then accomplish the power assist characteristic curve for the real car test. The parameters of the improved electric power steering system were analyzed, and the subjective and objective evaluation of the operation comfort was carried out.
