The ductility and seismic behavior of the joints are decreased and the improvement is needed.In this paper, the concept of "strong node weak component" in the concept of ductile design of steel structure is used to iprove the mechanical properties of the beam-column assemble connection. The finite element analysis software. ABAQUS, is used to analysis the mechanical properties of combination of strengthen and weaken connection. Weaken connection of dog-bone type Strengthen connection of side plate type. It was found that the combination of strengthen and weaken connection is the best form, which can realize the relocation of the plastic hinge, and the bearing capacity is strong.The Improved Beam-Column Assemble Connection was considered as the research object. And the nonlinear numerical analysis of connections were made by finite element analysis software ABAQUS. The hysteretic curves of improved beam-column assemble connection and ordinary beam-column assemble connection demonstrate that the improved connection has the advantages of good energy absorption capacity.Three series of improved beam-column assemble connections are designed for making the length and depth of weakened part, the length of widened flange more reasonable. By using the finite element programs with considering material nonlinear and geometric nonlinear, the influence on the behavior of improved beam-column assemble connection with widen beam flange length, weakened beam flange length and depth are discussed respectively. Puts forward some suggestions on the range of design parameters of improved beam-column assemble connection, and provides a basis for engineering design.The computational formula of the initial rotation stiffness of the connections was obtained by the virtual displacement method and the theory of elasticity.
