Research & Application Of The 500kV Power Line Series Reactor

Guangdong power grid,especially in the Pearl River Delta region,the power grid connection is closer, the hub substation number is much, Transformer substations and power plants are also more,the overall level of short circuit current is generally high.The short circuit current level of multiple 500kV substations is about to exceed or exceed the rated breaking capacity of the circuit breakers.Although adjustment of the power grid operation mode can be used to reduce the short circuit current level in some times,but this also reduce the safety margin of power grid operation.With the expansion of grid scale in the future, the short circuit current level of the Guangdong power grid is still showing a rapid growth trend, the current short circuit current over the problem has become an important issue affecting the safe operation and sustainable development of Guangdong power grid, We must take measures such as installing current limiting device, adjusting operation mode, optimizing the structure of electric network, replacing large capacity of circuit breaker and so on.Based on the 500kV Zongjiang to Baoan electric power line of install series reactor project,This paper has introduced the short circuit current exceeding the limit in Guangdong power grid of Guanshen area. Through the research on the restriction of the short circuit current methods and the type of power line current limiting device, we choose the 500kV dry air core series reactor for the first time in the South China power grid.we also do research on the design and manufacture of reactor parameters in this paper.Final,the project put into operation, The series reactor has a good effect on the short circuit current limiting,so this naner can nrovide reference for the similar proiects next time.
