With the improvement of people’s living standards and the rapid development of auto industry, vehicle, as the most convenient transportation, is popular in China. With the increase of cars, the resulting problem is also growing. One of the most important problems is park. Auto-park system can solve this problem totally, so the research of auto-park system becomes hot in the automotive industry.Object of this paper is parallel parking system which is the most common park. Firstly, the paper introduces the auto-park system and its background. At the same time the paper shows the significance of the subject. Secondly, the paper analyzes the parking process and introduces the route planning of auto-park system in details which is the most important step. On the basis of Ackerman principle, the paper introduces two methods of route planning. Because of the differences between actual route and route planning, we need another route planning to solve this problem. The paper provided another two methods to solve this problem. Finally, because of deviation between theories and engineering practice, the paper is based on the theory of route planning and according to the measurement parameters to deduce the parameters which are need in the auto-park process.The hardware and software of the auto-park system’s platform is introduced and the ultrasonic ranging module, wheel speed signal acquisition module are introduced in details. The experimental car in this paper is Jingyi X5 which is built by Dongfeng Auto Corperation. The experimental process, location, errors and results are introduced and analyses the errors in the process of test. The paper proposes solutions to solve the errors. The experimental results show that the auto-park system which is built in this paper can realize automatic parking function.Based on the result of experiment, there is a disadvantage in the parking system. It can’t be adjusted in the parking space. The paper proposes solutions to overcome this disadvantage in theory, which are prepared for the next research of auto-park system.
