Study Of Lighting Art Of Urban Waterfront Landscape

Lighting art of urban waterfront landscape is closely related to landscape planning, wetland protection, architectural culture, lighting art and urban design. Lighting art of urban waterfront landscape is of significance to enhance the cultural construction of the city and city nightly vision, and promote urban economic development; lighting art of urban waterfront landscape is people’s pursuit of the increasing quality of life; lighting art of urban waterfront landscape is the extension of waterfront space designing at night. Waterfront landscape lighting designing is the art design of waterfront environment at night by the carrier of the lighting, for example, building, plant, sketch, sculpture, squares, roads, to design the light source and color by the use of different lighting methods in accordance with the law of aesthetic art. But now the lighting design of urban waterfront is the lack of local geographical features and low cultural recognition. The city copies each other and compares the brightness within them, thus towards the serious electrical energy consumption and widespread problem of light pollution. The thesis puts forward the solutions for solving the related waterfront landscape designing problems in Hankou waterfront by the analysis of the various elements of the waterfront space and the field survey of Hankou waterfront in Wuhan.The thesis demonstrates the argument mainly by raising questions, analyzing and solving problems.Firstly, the author analyzes the urban waterfront city culture and lighting art theoretically, and recognizes the importance of urban waterfront landscape lighting on the enhancement of the city nightly vision. Therefore, the existing problems of waterfront landscape lighting art designing have been proposed: the first one is the level of lighting problems, lacking the control on the nighttime skyline; the second one is the lack of geographical features; the third one is the urban light pollution problems without the awareness of urban lighting energy saving.Secondly, the author classifies the urban waterfront landscape lighting based on point-line-surface structure. Besides, city waterfront nightly vision has been classified into far-middle-near levels according to different viewing positions. The author further studies the elements of urban waterfront landscape and the design methods of night light color. Then a field survey on Hankou Bench Park in Wuhan has been conducted by the analytical method of point-line-surface levels to conclude that the problems in marshland landscape lighting exist in the lack of lighting plan in the integrated system, viewing positions and the introducing of geographical cultures, leading to the low cultural recognition of the city.The feasible strategies which suit the waterfront landscape lighting design principles have been put forward against the problems of single level and the lack of geographical features of city waterfront lighting: firstly, putting emphasis on the level property of lighting; secondly, improving cultural recognition of the city. The lighting design should be optimized based on point-line-surface level by the combination of city geographic and cultural features: controlling the waterfront city skyline by lighting; preventing the light pollution and decreasing the potential risk of going out; adhering to green lighting principle in the design of lighting, improving the consciousness of urban residents on maintaining lighting products and perfecting the management system in lighting.
