Application And Research Of Territorial Culture In Handan City Landscape Design

The development of globalization has led the convergence in shape of urban landscape space, meanwhile the characteristic local culture has faded gradually, which need us to reflect and then to find the new direction of the landscape development.Therefore, it is necessary to study on the application problem of local culture in urban landscape designing. It is supposed to pay attention to the application of territorial culture in landscape design and excavate the deep cultural connotation, besides, it should combine the local history, culture, folk customs and representative elements to the urban landscape designing, thus provide the landscape with the distinct culture charm.Handan was the capital of the ancient Zhao, whose civilization history is more than7000 years, the construction history is more than 3100 years and about 158 years of the being the capital. The paper applies some relevant domains’ theory and method to the study. By analyzing the concepts of the landscape design, the territorial culture, and some relevant things deeply, the paper clarifies the feature and meaning of the territorial culture in urban landscape designing and the relations between them. Besides, it analyzes particularly on the current application, design principles and manifestation of territorial culture in urban landscape design. This paper sets the Handan as the research object, then makes a deep analysis on the territorial culture of Handan, meanwhile it also research on the character of its long-standing territorial culture from two aspects,that is, the material culture and the non-material culture, which can be an important reference for design practice. Finally, by using some typical cases, it analyzes theinheritance and the development of territorial culture in landscape design of Handan,and it also summarizes the way of expression in application of territorial culture, raises the current problems and the suggestions. Furthermore, it selects the most representative culture Zhao, the classical culture of idioms, the revolution culture of border region and the kiln culture of Cizhou, from which extracts the territorial culture elements, then applies it to the landscape design after artistic creation, adds the unique charm to the territorial culture landscape of Handan.Considering the current development idea of urban landscape design, the paper is trying to find the appropriate ways for a better development of Handan. Taking the historical context and the modern landscape design into account, by using the traditional design method, it not only inherits and continues the territorial culture, but also conform the various aesthetic demand and life style of modern people, then design the urban landscape which combines the tradition and modern, as well as the territorial culture and the urban development. Hoping that this paper would contribute to the territorial culture construction of Handan and inspire the urban designer and decision-maker to make further thinking of the territorial culture construction, then forge an urban landscape of Handan which possesses the characteristic territorial culture.
