There is a wild range of vehicle types due to the diversification of the demand of passenger and Freight transportation. The structures and the conditions of vehicle usage have become more and more complex and diversified and the performance requirement of commercial vehicles has promoted speedily.The requirement of Vehicle performance detection has been taken seriously. Computer simulation test and Automobile road experiment are two mainly research methods of vehicle controllability, stability and ride comfort test. The proving ground concentrate on the actual vehicle driving roads, setting all kinds of special roads. The vehicle controllability and stability and ride comfort Vehicle testing on proving ground is very important and there is practical significance which can not be replaced by computer simulation and vehicle indoor bench test. The vehicle test equipment is helpful to improve the test ability and verify the rationality of the structure design of the vehicle performance in the application of proving ground test.Chang’an University Automotive comprehensive performance proving ground, is the only comprehensive proving ground among all universities of China with a variety of special roads,controllability and stability tests square and high-speed ring road to complete all vehicle road test research and testing.At present, the test result of traditional auto test instrument is not satisfied because of low accuracy, poor processing ability and susceptible to interference.The VBOX vehicle test system is based on high performance GPS signal receiving ability and powerful digital arithmetic coprocessor, according to the supporting software and a variety of sensors to extend test functionality and also view and analysis of test data in real-time. For this thesis, author selected the Chang’an University Automotive comprehensive performance proving ground, and built a vehicle handling stability detection system with VBOX series equipment,gyroscope and steering wheel dynamometer instrument.Analyze the testing princple,equipment installation method,precision of testing,data processing method and test accuracy inprovement method.And also invent a cab attitude angle test method on the special road surface using the VBOX, LMSvibration noise test system and the gyroscope, in order to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of VBOX in the test and application in the automobile test field. There is a certain practical significance of this paper, author hope it is useful and can help some related research and want to carry it out in some related research and practice.
