At this stage bridge damage accidents have occurred from time to time because of the failure of hanger, but the regulations of tied arch bridge on the design,construction, maintance, health detection, remove and repair, remaining life prediction and the other areas are still uncertain.Besides, health diagnosis of hanger can not meet the reliability requirement of the bridges that makes the bridge damage accidents happen time and time. Therefore, based on the reference and summary of existing research results, this research rely on a truly existed flexible tied rigid arch bridge, study and analysis the load behavior and the failure-safety design method of hanger.In the beginning, this article describes the structural failure-safety design theory and analysis method which is involved in the hanger fatigue,and then do the improved design work of the ordinary double hanger unit,use that Miner’s linear cumulative damage theory combined with the failure-safety design method to study a bridge’s double hanger failure-safety unit. The so-called "Failure-Safety Design of Hanger Of Tied Arch Bridge" refer to the fact that the arch bridge will remain safe even though one hanger happen to break since the other hanger of the double hanger failure-safety unit can make sure the safety of the whole bridge before the repair or replacement of the broken hanger, and ensure the traffic is not affected during the repair of broken hanger as far as possible. This article calculate and analysis the design fatigue life of improved hanger, analysis the residual bridge structure with impact action when individual hanger break suddenly. Research suggests that the improved double hanger system is better for the whole bridge’s security in comparison with the original ordinary double hanger and single hanger system, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the hanger’s failure-safety design theory.The failure-safety hanger system that is researched in this article can make sure the residual bridge structure’s safety with impact action when tied arch bridge’s hanger break suddenly and assure normal operation of the structure when changing a new hanger.The conclusions in this article provide certain reference value for the arch bridge designers in the l’ailure-safety design area of tied arch bridge hanger.
