In this paper, take the ellipse-like suspendome of Suqian Yunhe Gymnasium as background, based on shape optimization result done before, deep research is done on the affections among meshing types, sections optimization, cable force optimization, shape optimization and strut heights optimization, create optimal programs based on finite element software, optimal structure programs for ellipse-like suspendome can be obtained by research mehod of comparation considering many factors mentioned above, and can give reference for the design and type selection of the similar projects. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) The cable force downside and the upper sections have close relationship with the optimal outer shape. According to the optimal results for the background project, it can be found that the two factors can affect the optimal result to 11.3% degree. So when to optimize the shape, both section optimization and cable force optimization should be taken into consideration, that is, the shape optimization method considering many factors.(2) The optimal outer shape optimized by the shape optimization method considering many factors is sharper than the one optimized by the shape optimization method taking the sections as a constant, and that is benefit for the inner force condition of the structure.(3) Under the same condition, the different meshing types can have different optimal outer shapes. Equidistant rib-patterned ellipse-like suspendome can use two times polynomial to fit its optimal outer shape, but for Kiewitt and Rib-patterned suspendome, four times polynomial can be used to fit its optimal outer shape.(4) Compared with the ellipse suspendome, ellipse-like suspendome is plumper on the two ends of the long axis, and is more convenient for using. The amount of metal used per square meter of ellipse-like suspendome is less than ellipse suspendome, so using ellipse-like suspendome instead of ellipse suspendome is more reasonable.(5) There are three kinds of meshing type for ellipse-like suspendome, that is, Kiewitt, Rib-patterned and Equidistant rib-patterned. According to the optimal result, the cable force of Equidistant rib-patterned suspendome is more even and reasonable, and Equidistant rib-patterned uses less amount of metal than the other two kinds. So ellipse-like suspendome shoud take Equidistant rib-patterned as a priority.(6) The strut heights of suspendome affect the supporting ability of cable system to the upper dome and the whole behavior of the structure. Through optimizing it, the inner force performance can be improved; the amount of metal used can be reduced. So the optimization design of ellipse-like suspendome should take strut heights optimization into consideration.(7) The result of strut heights optimization shows that the inclined cables of three different meshing types of ellipse-like suspendome are approximately parallel and the angle between struts and inclined cables lies in 70 degree to 80 degree.(8) The design optimization result for the background project ellipse-like suspendome considering lots of facters shows that Equidistant rib-patterned ellipse-like suspendome costs least material; Kiewitt ellipse-like suspendorne does less; Rib-patterned ellipse-like suspendome does the most So in the similar projects, equidistant rib-patterned ellipse-like suspendome should be used first...
