With the rapid development of our country’s economy, the number of railway tunnels in cold region is constantly increasing, the cold damage problem of tunnels is increasing affecting the normal safe operation of the railway in cold region. This paper taking the operational Shahukou Tunnel of Zhunchi Railway as the research background, use the methods of the stie test, data analysis, numerical simulation,studied and analyzed wind speed and outside temperature those two important factors influences the air temperature field inside tunnel. Research the distribution of surrounding rock temperature field in the conditions of insulation layer or not and different thickness of insulation layer. Systematic study of air temperature field and temperature field of surrounding rock of tunnel in cold region. The main research work of this paper include:(1)Make the site test of the Shahukou Tunnel, laying temperature sensor in tunnel section and measuring point, through the analysis of the measured data, mastered the the distribution of temperature field of surrounding rock and air temperature field in the tunnel operation period. Through the test of water quantity and water temperature on both sides of the tunnel, mastered the distribution regularity of water temperature in tunnel.(2)The air temperature field calculation model of Shahukou Tunnel is established by using the fluid software FLUENT, analysis the distribution regularity of air temperature field inside tunnel in different conditions of the tunnel entrance wind speed and the outside temperature, get the freeze range and depth of surrounding rock of tunnel entrance. According to the law of these changes, it can be considered that the insulation layer thickness of tunnel entrance thicker than the insulation layer thickness in the middle period of tunnel when designing the insulation layer of tunnel,thus can reduce the project cost, makes the heat preservation measures more scientific rationality.(3)The 3D calculation model of Shahukou Tunnel is established by using finiteelement software ANSYS, use the temperature data of site test as boundary condition of the calculation model, research the distribution of surrounding rock temperature field in the conditions of have insulation layer or not and different thickness of insulation layer of temperature field, influence range of temperature and freezing depth in the rock. Analysis the insulation effect of the thermal insulation layer, it has certain reference significance to the design of insulation layer preservation for anti freezing damage.The research results of this paper have an instruction and reference for grasp the distribution regularity of the air temperature field and surrounding rock temperature field of operational tunnel in cold region, and how to design the insulation layer of tunnel.
