The magnetic resonance coupling WPT technology is a new technology for power transmission, and it’s only in the last few years. The technology can effectively and safely transfer electric power by using the principle of magnetic coupling and resonance. This technique has overcome the disadvantages of a close distance or low efficiency in the wireless power transmission in the past, has opened up a new way of power transmission, which has very important research value and practical significance. In this paper, the research background, significance and domestic and foreign research status of magnetic resonance coupling WPT technology are introduced firstly; Secondly, the magnetic resonance coupling WPT experimental system is constructed and the composition and function of the system are introduced, the system includes signal generator, multi group DC power supply, power amplifier, oscilloscope, transmitting coil, receiving coil, load resistance and tuning capacitor and so on. Then, the key factors affecting the transmission performance of the experimental system are analyzed in detail by using the equivalent mutual inductance coupling model in the circuit theory. And then the energy transfer characteristics of the solenoid coil was studied by using the magnetic resonance coupling WPT experimental system. The two coil WPT system is analyzed. The transmission performance of the WPT system based on self resonance and the WPT system based on series capacitance tuning is compared and analyzed; the reason of frequency splitting is obtained; the relationship between the value of UOC/US,the system transmission distance and the operating frequency is studied in the magnetic resonance coupling WPT system based on self resonance; and a study of impedance matching is carried out. Then the three coil WPT system is analyzed. The transmission performance of the three coil WPT system is studied, and the relationship between the optimal position of the relay coil and the transmission distance is studied. In addition, The energy transfer characteristics of the planar spiral coil also was studied by using the WPT system, the two coil WPT system is analyzed, the transmission performance of the WPT system based on self resonance and the WPT system based on series capacitance tuning is analyzed, and a study of impedance matching of the WPT system based on self resonance is carried out. Then the three coil WPT system is analyzed. The transmission performance of the three coils WPT system and the relationship between the optimal position of the relay coil and the transmission distance are studied. The influence of the structure of the planar spiral coil(such as diameter, turn number, number of layers, etc.) on the transmission performance of the magnetic resonance coupling WPT two coils system is analyzed. Finally, the magnetic resonance coupling WPT experiment about the solenoid coil and the planar spiral coil is compared and analyzed in this paper, and the advantages and disadvantages of the two coils in the magnetic resonance coupling WPT are also described. The transmission performance of magnetic resonance coupling WPT system composed of the solenoid coil is better, more suitable for long-distance transmission of electricity; in the system that requires less strict for the volume, the solenoid coil can be preferred. And the planar spiral coil is composed of the WPT system, which is good for the frequency selectivity. When the working frequency is in the vicinity of the resonant frequency, the receiving end of the system can get better effect; and when the impedance matching is performed in the system composed of the planar spiral coil, the best load resistance which has the maximum power is smaller. The plane spiral coil is very thin, more suitable for application to some small electrical appliances, which is conducive to the magnetic resonance coupling WPT system tends to miniaturization.
